THE SON'S OF TUTA Los Hijos de Tuta is headed by Toronto's talented musical director and multi-percussionist, Wilson Acevedo. Acevedo immigrated three original band members of the band to Toronto two years ago and brought on board three well-known Colombian-Canadian musicians, and resurrected Los Hijos de Tuta in Canada.

In only two years, Los Hijos de Tuta has established itself as a much loved parrandero band in Canada Central and South America . Acevedo attributes the band’s popularity to the upbeat, infectious nature of parrandero music – known in Colombia for getting people up and dancing at parties and celebrations!

The music of Colombia is an expression of Colombian culture, which contains diverse music genres, both traditional and modern, according with the features of each geographic region, although it is not uncommon to find different musical styles in the same region. The diversity in musical expressions found in Colombia can be seen as the result of a mixture of African, native Indigenous, and European (especially Spanish) influences, as well as more modernAmerican, Caribbean, Cuban, and Jamaican musical forms

Colombia is known as "The land of a thousand rhythms' but actually holds 1,025 folk rhythms
Some of the best known genres are cumbia Parranda vallenato. The most recognized interpreters of traditional caribbean and afrocolombian music are Totó la Momposina and Francisco Zumaqué.

The band's first CD "SIGUELE SIGUELE" was released in Toronto Canada in 2013.
